If the Anat. Ukraine “votes” annexation to Russia, the advance of the Ukrainian army will be considered an “invasion”

Russia will treat any attempt by the Ukrainian armed forces to retake Donbass (Donetsk-Luhansk) and the rest of the Ukrainian provinces held by the Russian military as an attack on its national territory, if the “referendums” held there produce a “positive result” in favor of union with the Russian Federation, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday, according to Russian news agency Tass.

“It goes without saying,” he said, when asked if, in the event of “approval” of incorporating the annexation of these provinces into Russia through “referendums,” Kiev’s attempt to recapture territory would be considered an attack on Russia’s national territory.

D. Peskov explained that “immediately after the approval of the decision, the constitution of Russia will apply to the specific territories as well.”

“Everything is clear at this level,” he added.

“If there is an act of accession to Russia, then, accordingly, the relevant provisions of our constitution will apply immediately there,” he stressed.
