The Ministry of National Defense, as part of the ongoing social contribution of the Armed Forces, announces the allocation to the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs of 69 officers from all three Branches (Army, Navy and Air Force), in order to help cover the urgent need for drivers – bus attendants of the Special Education & Education School Units, during the 2022-2023 school year.

Under the care of the General Staff of National Defense, the officers of the Armed Forces available from the beginning of the school year, September 1 to December 23, 2022 (with the possibility of extension until the end of the school year), ensure the timely and safe transportation of children to and from their Schools.

The action is implemented in Special Education & Training School Units in the Regional Directorates of Education of Attica, Thessaly, Eastern Macedonia & Thrace, Central Macedonia, Western Macedonia, Western Greece, Central Greece, South Aegean and North Aegean.

The Deputy Minister of National Defense Mr. Nikolaos Hardaliasfor the implementation of the action stated:

“Once again, the Armed Forces make a strong presence and stand by the side of vulnerable population groups, as just a small sample of their uninterrupted contribution in every area critical to the maintenance of social cohesion, a contribution that makes them the recipient of universal recognition from society as a whole , further strengthening the strong relationship of trust they have developed over time with the Greek citizens».
