The Vice Chancellor Nikolaos Hardalias held the unveiling of the bust of Hero Colonel Konstantinos Kokkas, in Leptokarya

The Deputy Minister of National Defense Mr. Nikolaos Hardalias held today, Saturday July 2, 2022, the unveiling of the bust of Hero Colonel (Infantry) Konstantinos Kokkas, together with the daughter of the late Mr. Eleni Kokka, in the context of a commemorative event organized by the 1st Infantry Division. The bust was placed in a space within the Leptokarya Health Loss Replacement Center, which was recently renamed the “COLONEL (PZ) KONSTANTINOU KOKKA” Camp.

Colonel Konstantinos Kokkas, as Platoon Leader of the 6th Company of the Greek Cypriot Force, fell for faith and country in the military operations of 1974, in the area of ​​the village of “KIONELI”, in Cyprus, defending the sovereignty of the mega-island during the Turkish invasion.

The event of honor and memory was attended by relatives of the fallen Hero, the Members of Parliament of Pieria etc. Xenophon Baraliakos, Anna Mani-Papadimitriou, Savvas Chionidis and Elizabeth Skoufa, the Deputy Regional Governor P.E.
