Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has ordered Russian military forces operating in all regions of Ukraine to escalate military operations.
The goal is to preemptively prevent bombings in Eastern Ukraine and other areas controlled by Russia, as the same ministry said in a statement posted on its website.
The statement says that Shoigu “gave the necessary instructions to further escalate the action of military units in all areas where military operations are conducted, in order to prevent the possibility of a mass attack by the government of Kiev, with rockets or artillery fire against politicians infrastructure and populated areas in Donbas, but also other areas”.
