Chief of General Staff in Parliament: Many MARDERS will go to the islands-There will be no operational gap in ED

Good morning, the “ethnic fathers” in the Defense Committee started fighting over the process before the great

A ridiculous picture with the good morning with the “ethnic fathers” in the Parliament in the Committee on Defense, which, among other things, will discuss the sending of weapons to Ukraine.

The first quarrel takes place whether the discussion will be open or not. And it goes on with every speech!

Rear Admiral Ioannis Drymousis PN, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of National Defense, spoke and said that the weapons we send to Ukraine are mostly from the former Soviet Union and that there is no gap in the country’s defense and operational planning.

He also said that the replacement of BMP-1 with MARDER will be done without creating a time gap and concluded: “we are sure that it will upgrade the operational capabilities of the armed forces”

The Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Charalambos Lalousis, on his part, spoke that from his experience of 42 years in tracked vehicles and for BMP-1 & MARDER, he referred to the difference in armor, with MARDER being very strengthened.

“It is familiar to us, it has a 20mm cannon, even the Turkish marders have a 20mm cannon, and it also has a thermal periscope, a more powerful engine and the exchange is beneficial.

“There will be no gaps, we will go to Germany and inspect them,” he said, adding that a large number of them would go to the islands.
