Lockheed Martin is developing a medium-range version of the new AGM-179 JAGM (Joint-Air-to-Ground Missiles). The JAGM-MR version of the missile is in the evaluation phase with test firings scheduled to begin in November 2021.
The new version will have an increased range and a choice of sensors. In addition, Lockheed Martin plans to develop other versions such as maritime target attack, long-range and short-range air defense (for the US Army’s new I-MSRAD anti-aircraft systems).

In its current version, the JAGM missile incorporates a dual guidance system (km-wave radar and semi-active laser) and a multi-role warhead. Its maximum range exceeds 8 kilometers.
