The Deputy Minister of National Defense Mr. Nikolaos Hardalias yesterday, Friday, October 7, 2022, as part of the first day of his official visit to the United States of America, he was at the headquarters of the US Naval Academy (US Naval Academy), in Washington, where he was received by the Commandant of the Academy Vice Admiral Sean Buck.

During the visit, Mr. Hardalias was informed about the mission, the maritime and academic education program of the Academy and toured its facilities.

The Deputy Minister of National Defense, in the context of strengthening the cooperation between the Naval Academies of Greece and the USA, proposed the joint development and implementation of a military, naval and academic training program, with the process of exchanging Naval Cadets between the American Naval Academy and the Hellenic Naval School Cadets, for the benefit of the future leaders of the Armed Forces of the two countries, under the name “FILIA». The presentation of the proposal was received by the Administration of the US Naval Academy with particular enthusiasm.

Afterwards, the Deputy Minister of National Defense visited:

– The Greek Embassy, ​​where he met with the Deputy Ambassador Mr. Theodoros Bizakis, with whom they discussed matters of mutual interest. He also had the opportunity to talk with the staff of the Embassy.

– The Greek Military Delegation, where he met with the Defense Attaché of Greece in the USA, Colonel Panagiotis Vlachopoulos and the officers serving in the Delegation, whom he congratulated for their professionalism and efficiency in the performance of their duties.
