Ukraine: 100 armored vehicles are being sent from Greece and Slovakia – What the German Minister of Defense revealed

German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht reiterated that NATO must strengthen its defenses as she announced a new arms supply to Ukraine

German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht visited the German troops deployed in Lithuania, where, among other things, she revealed that Greece and Slovakia will send armored vehicles to Ukraine.

“We live in critical times, and in such times, it is important to know where we have gaps in the defense. Air defense is one such area where action is urgent,” said Lambrecht.

As CNN broadcasts in its live coverage of developments in Ukraine, Germany announced more arms deliveries to Kyiv, including the IRIS-T air defense system and a total of 100 armored vehicles from Greece and Slovakia.

Facing an increased security threat, Germany will also create a new armored infantry brigade that could be rapidly deployed to Lithuania in times of need, Lambrecht added.

Ukraine is asking for more weapons

“We are holding positions in the Donbass, especially in the direction of Bakhmut, where there is very, very heavy fighting now,” Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian president also stressed that one of the highest priorities for Ukraine at the moment is “accelerating the decision of our partners to provide Ukraine with modern and effective anti-aircraft systems in sufficient quantity.”
