Tribute to the National Guard- Passed out while playing football

The National Guard was saddened by the death of 48-year-old family man Charalambos Savvas, who died suddenly yesterday while playing football.

According to information from the Police, the 48-year-old, while playing football with his friends, at some point lost consciousness and collapsed to the ground. They immediately rushed to him, to provide him with first aid, while an ambulance was called, which transported him to the Larnaca General Hospital. However, the doctors on duty pronounced him dead.

The unfortunate 48-year-old was a helicopter operator in the National Guard. In the morning, the autopsy was performed on his body by medical examiners Angeliki Papetta and Orthodoxos Orthodoxou, however, according to the Police, the exact causes of his death will be determined by further scientific tests.

The 48-year-old constable, who served in Paphos, will be buried with military honors. The funeral of Haris Savvas will be held this Saturday, at 4:00 pm, from the holy church of Agios Savvas in Livadia. Contributions will be made for the family in the churchyard.
