Top Navy Success: Seizure of Large Illegal Cargo of Vehicles Bound for Libya

Under the operational and tactical control of the Greek commander Arch-Captain Stylianos Dimopoulos PN and the participation of the “AEGAION” frigate, the Navy (PN) managed to seize a large amount of illegal cargo off Libya in the context of “Operation IRINI”.

The operation took place earlier on the Dutch-flagged cargo ship MV MEERDIJK which had sailed from the UAE bound for Libya. Armored vehicles were found on the cargo ship MV MEERDIJK. The cargo ship has sailed to the port of Volos.
