The Kurds (SDF) hit a Turkish military position with a rocket – One dead and two injured

A rocket attack near the Syrian border resulted in the death of a Turkish soldier and the wounding of two police special operations officers, Turkish state media reported on Sunday.

The attacks were launched in the direction of Kilis near the border gate in northern Syria, the Anadolu news agency said in a Twitter post, writing that one soldier was killed and two police officers were wounded, without giving further details.

Early Sunday morning, Turkey announced the launch of a new operation called “Claw-Sword” in various areas of the Kurdistan Region and Syrian Kurdistan, also known as Rojava.

According to Turkish media, more than 50 F-16 fighter jets and 20 drones were used in the attacks and more than 13 locations were targeted in the area.

At least “11 civilians, including a journalist, lost their lives,” Farhad Sami, head of the SDF’s media center, said in a statement on Twitter, adding that “these attacks by Turkish occupation forces will not go unanswered.” .

Regarding the new Turkish attacks, Mazloum Abdi, Commander-in-Chief of the SDF, said on Sunday that the attacks had been planned for a long time.
