In the last few days, Turkey has been trying to demonstrate the strength and ammunition capabilities of its army by conducting the multinational exercise “Ephesus 2022” in the region of Izmir.
According to the NEWS, the Turkish exercise is expected to end on June 9 and includes the participation of special forces, offensive UAVs, amphibious scenarios, targeting the Greek islands. In fact, the Turkish Ministry of Defense and the Turkish press give great weight to the international part of the exercise and emphasize that this year 37 countries will participate. There is also participation of the USA – for the first time since 2016 -, France, Libya, Albania. It is noted that the Americans are taking part in the exercise with the USS “Arlington” ship – which supports special operations -, that is, with the same one that had participated a few days ago in the bilateral exercise Greece – USA “Alexander the Great 2022” in the Pagasitic Gulf.

As is always the case in such cases, the Greek Armed Forces and the Staffs closely monitor the Turkish exercise by all means. Moreover, the Turkish provocation has raised the vigilance of the entire Armed Forces in the border area and in the Aegean.
