Russian Media: American ships with weapons arrive in Alexandroupolis and Thessaloniki

The ships will carry dozens of pieces of equipment, including Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and Abrams tanks.

US ships carrying weapons and military equipment will arrive at the ports of Alexandroupolis and Thessaloniki to hand them over to NATO forces in Eastern Europe from November 22 to December 7, Russian media reported.

According to what is reported, 29 transfers are planned, of which 22 are to Poland, six to Bulgaria and one to Romania. After unloading in Greece, the equipment will be sent by train and convoy to the bases of permanent and temporary deployment of NATO allied forces.

The ships will carry dozens of pieces of equipment, including Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and Abrams tanks.

“Although in the past the US government used only the port of Alexandroupolis for the transfer of equipment, now the port of Thessaloniki, the controlling stake of which belongs to the Greek-Russian businessman Ivan Savvidis”, will be used by the Russian media, adding that “the true purpose is unknown. However, the volumes of upcoming deliveries may indicate a possible surprise expansion of the US troop presence in eastern Europe.”
