Russia: Russian secret laser weapons headache for the West since Moscow can blind Western satellites.

Russia is boosting its anti-satellite capabilities as it builds the Kalina laser system, “intended to blind enemy satellites,” writes eurasiantimes.com.

“Space Review first revealed the existence of this system citing recent satellite images,” it noted.

The platform reviewed satellite images, documents from Russian industrial contractors and financial records.

Russia: Russia’s Secret Laser Weapons

Kalina can permanently blind Western satellites by destroying their optical sensors.

Elon Musk wrote in May 2022 that Russia is “intensifying its efforts” to jam and disrupt signals from SpaceX’s Starlink internet satellites. SpaceX recently sent several Starlink terminals to Ukraine to restore communications networks and provide emergency Internet services in the country, which Russia invaded in February.

At the same time that the Americans are racing to the field of new laser weapons, Lockheed Martin has revealed that at least one of the laser weapons it has developed has been delivered to the US Air Force for test work.

Targets of the laser weapon will be enemy fighter jets, UAVs, drones and even enemy missiles.
