On September 29, the entry of the TPC “VLAKACHOS” (R-79) into the Navy

Next Thursday, September 29, the ceremony of naming and joining the Navy of the newly built Fast Guided Missile Patrol Vessel “VICE CAPTAIN VLACHAKOS” is going to take place. The ceremony will take place at the Speed ​​Boats Command, at the Skaramanga Naval Fort.

In the meantime, TPC 7 carried out the first test sail yesterday, from the Elefsina shipyards, to check various systems. On Monday the 26th of the month, the TPC will sail to the Skaramanga Naval Fort, where it is planned to stay for a week, during which time the aforementioned ceremony will take place.

As we have already noted, the new warship will formally join the force of the Fleet, however, it will not be fully operational. From the Skaramanga Naval Fort, VLACHAKOS (P 79) will return on September 30 to the Elefsina shipyards, where the necessary installation work and all weapons will continue, along with tests and firings. This whole phase is expected to be completed around November, when the ship will be fully operational.
