The Minister of National Defense Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos met today, Thursday, December 1, 2022, with the new Executive Director of the American Jewish Committee (AJC), Mr. Ted Deutch.

During the meeting, the importance of the strategic defense cooperation between Greece and the USA and the Mutual Defense Cooperation Agreement (MDCA) was emphasized for the defense and security of the two countries and the promotion of security and stability in the wider region.

In addition, the developments in Ukraine and the Eastern Mediterranean were discussed, while the role played by Greece, as a pillar of stability, cooperating with countries that share common values ​​and have a common vision for a peaceful and prosperous region, was highlighted.

In this context, special reference was made to the high level of the constantly strengthening, strategic defense relationship between Greece and Israel and to the Tripartite cooperation between Greece – Cyprus – Israel.
