Mass invasion of Turkish UAVs in the Aegean since the beginning of the year

Historical negative record in 2022 from Turkey, which this year has carried out thousands of incursions into the National Airspace of Greece with UAVs.

For the fourth consecutive day, yesterday Sunday, Turkey carried out overflights over Greek islands. This time the target was Kandeliussa, over which an ANKA UAV flew, at 8.03 in the morning at an altitude of 19,000 feet.

In the last period of time, the provocation of the Turks has increased dramatically, with the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles – UAVs of the ANKA type.

In fact, the infuriating thing is that they use them to make overflights over Greek islands even at dawn, like what happened at 3:41 a.m. last Thursday, when an ANKA flew at an altitude of 19,000 feet over Kinaro. Kinaros was targeted by Turkish UAVs on both Friday and Saturday.

In total, according to the data gathered by enikos.gr, from the beginning of the year until yesterday, Sunday, September 18, 3,769 violations of the National Airspace by Turkish UAVs have been recorded, which also carried out 39 overflights over Greek islands.

Of the violations, 1,480 have occurred from July 7 to September 18, i.e. in just 2 months, while 16 overflights were recorded in the same period.

Regarding the essence of the overflights, military sources revealed to enikos.gr that the Turkish objective is to map the movements of the Coast Guard. Something that raises reinforces the theory of collusion between the Turkish government and organized rings of illegal immigrant traffickers.
