The Deputy Minister of National Defense Mr. Nikolaos Hardalias concluding today, Wednesday, September 28, 2022, his two-day visit to the islands of the Eastern Aegean, he was successively at the headquarters of Units and Guard Stations of the Army and the Navy, as follows:

– Of the homonymous Guard Prison, in Chalki.

– Of the 3rd National Guard Company/National Guard Battalion of Karpathos, in Kasos.

– Of the 2nd National Guard Company/Kos National Guard Battalion, in Astypalaia.

The Deputy Minister of National Defense was informed by the Commands about the current operational and training activities of the Units and spoke with the Executives, the Enlisted Soldiers and the National Guardsmen.

Additionally, during his stay in Astypalaia, he visited the TROUPAKIS Guided Missile Fast Patrol, which is participating in the “COASTAL IDENTIFICATION 2022” Exercise. Mr. Hardalias was informed by the Governor about the mission and the operational capabilities of the Missile, he spoke with its crew and watched on-board operational training objects as part of the Exercise.

Finally, Mr. Hardalias met with the Mayors of Chalkis, Mr. Evangelos FragakisCassu Mr. Michael Erotokritos and Astypalea Mr. Nikolaos Komineasas well as with the Commanders of the local Services of the Security Forces.

The Deputy Minister of National Defense was accompanied by the Commander of the Supreme Military Command of the Interior and Islands Lt. Gen. Dimitrios Houpis. Also present were the Commanders of the 95 National Guard Battalions Senior Command Major General Dimitrios Vakentis, of the 80 Higher Command of National Guard Battalions Brigadier General Spyridon Kogiannis and the Deputy Commander of the 95 National Guard Battalions’ Higher Command, Brigadier General Michael Roussinos.
