Armaments: Strengthening operations against enemy fleets – How F-16s and Rafale gain the ability to sink ships with the deadliest anti-ship missiles.
The best answer to the demilitarization of the Greek islands posed by Ankara is given by the Greek Armed Forces, which not only do not stop training and being in all the “hot” points of interest, but are reinforced with new powerful weapons systems that subvert the data. .
This is, after all, the only road in Greece, facing an insolvent and insidious neighbor, capable at any moment of disturbing the peace and security in the region.
In the midst of the intensifying Turkish provocations, the Parliament approves a new armament package, which consists of very important weapons, which will further strengthen the armed forces.
The most important of these, we could say, is the 60 Harpoon AGM-84 anti-ship missiles, a weapon system that our country has long been calling for the US to “release” in order to attach to our Air Force fighters, strengthening the quiver with the also powerful AM Exocet-39.
With a range of more than 270 km, Harpoon missiles are capable of sinking surface targets in a matter of minutes, while with a total weight of 725 kg and an explosive warhead weight of 360 kg, they are fired by F-16 fighters and leave no room for reaction. smaller ships, such as rockets or even corvettes.
The acquisition of Harpoon clearly confirms the strategy of the Chief of General Staff, General Konstantinos Floros and the Heads of Branches, to strengthen operations against enemy fleets. With the Rafale carrying the Exocet and the F-16 Harpoon, Greece will have 145 fighter jets (83 F-16 Viper, 24 Rafale, 38 F-16 Block 50) with the deadliest anti-ship missiles, an absolute nightmare for any enemy fleet.
Our country also acquires HARM anti-radar missiles, which are the worst enemy of the S-400, as they are directed at their radars.
According to information, in July, the political and military leadership of the Ministry of Defense will go to the USA, where they will have very important meetings, but they will also see the factory where the F-35s are being built, conveying the Greek request for the purchase of a Squadron of top Stealth fighters.
At the same time, there will be discussions about used weapons systems from the stock of the American army, for which our country has already expressed interest.
