On Tuesday, March 26 2024the first meeting of the Supreme Council of the National Guard (ASEF), under its new composition, as it emerged after the recent ones promotions and placements of Senior Officers in their new duties.
Before the start of the meeting, a consecration took place and then the rank insignia and the emblem of ASEF were awarded to the new members by the Chief of the EF and President of ASEF, Lt. Gen. Georgios Tsitsikostas.
The chief, after congratulating the promoted officers, he referred to crucial role of the Council in all matters concerning the structure, organization and operation of the EF and gave to the members of the Council its original directions.
In particular, he pointed out that in the Armed Forces, more than any other sector, the principle of “Continuity of Management” has been adopted and applied and that no one starts from scratch. Everyone who is placed in a position of high responsibility receives a well-founded Organization that is the property of the entire Cypriot society. The constant goal of each successor, he noted, is the continuous strengthening and development of what he receives.
In this context, he called on all members of the Council, with respect for the work of all their former colleagues and predecessors, to build on the work that has been handed down to them and to work with faith and dedication as a single and solid whole for the good of the EF and the Republic of Cyprus (DK).
Concluding, he pointed out that the current security situation does not allow any room for inaction and only with hard work, dedication and continuous commitment from the Chief to the youngest soldier will the EF be able to continue with quick steps, confidence and certainty on its way to be ready to carry out the Mission and the projects assigned to it by the KD.
