Armed Forces: ‘Medusa 12’ spreads its tentacles and sends a message to Erdogan

Greece, Cyprus, Egypt and Saudi Arabia open fire in the Mediterranean – Defense cooperation with “catalyst” countries in the region is being strengthened.

The large bilateral interdisciplinary exercise “Medusa 12”, co-organized by Greece and Egypt, is spreading its tentacles for another year.

With the main objective of continuous training and absolute operational readiness, the Armed Forces do not stop training and preparing for any eventuality, while Ankara continues to provoke and even threaten armed conflict.

The military leadership in the Greek “Pentagon” is well aware that no one can be complacent and for this reason, the intention of GEETHA is to ensure that there is not the slightest inactivity and no complacency. The executives of the three Branches are in constant vigilance, with continuous actions to support national interests both in the critical region of the Eastern Mediterranean and the Balkans.

After all, the strengthening of bilateral and multilateral collaborations is at the top of the agenda of the Head of the GEETHA, General Konstantinos Floros, who with methodical moves has managed to strengthen alliances even with countries of the so-called Arab world. With a common goal of peace and prosperity in the Eastern Mediterranean, our country is strengthening ties with the militarily powerful Egypt, putting both Turkey and the Erdogan regime on the sidelines.

In this context, the interdisciplinary exercise “MEDUSA ’22” is being held for another year, with the participation of the Armed Forces of Greece and Egypt. The Chief of the GETHA, General Konstantinos Floros has already done the… preliminary work by discussing and organizing the exercise at the highest military level, while from 05 to 08 September 2022 and as part of the preparation, the Combined Main and Final Planning Meeting was held at the facilities of the Alexandria Naval Base in Egypt.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Armed Forces of Egypt, Greece as well as Cyprus and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as invited countries. The purpose of the meeting was to determine the program of activities and the final coordination of the Exercise, which is scheduled to be held from November 19 to 25, 2022 in the wider area of ​​Alexandria.

Greece and Egypt once again seal the excellent cooperation between them, strengthening the security axis in the Eastern Mediterranean and sending a dynamic response to Ankara’s shenanigans.
