US recommends – diplomacy – State Department: “Greece and Turkey to work together to maintain peace”!

The famous policy of equal distances, only in this case favors Turkey exclusively, is adopted once again by the State Department, speaking vaguely about respecting the territorial integrity of all countries while recommending Greece and Turkey to find each other… diplomacy.

The United States is urging its allies to refrain from using rhetoric that could further fuel tensions in the region, the State Department said.

Responding to a question from Greek officials in Washington, D.C., a US State Department spokesman said “we urge our allies to refrain from rhetoric that could further escalate tensions.”

In his response, the State Department spokesman noted that “the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries (including Turkey) must be respected and protected.

We continue to encourage our NATO Allies, Greece and Turkey to work together to maintain peace and security in the region and to resolve disputes through diplomacy.

We urge our Allies to refrain from rhetoric that could further escalate tensions. “Greece and Turkey are both strong partners and key allies of NATO in the United States.”

The State Department said in a statement on both February 11 and June 2 that Greek sovereignty over the islands was unquestionable.

As he had characteristically noted, “the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries must be respected and protected. “The sovereignty of Greece in these islands is not in question.”
