Under the microscope! How the new Turkish kamikaze drones create new data in the conduct of tactical operations

Most worryingly, according to the Turks, the UAV TOGAN will coordinate the groups of other kamikaze UAVs, KARGU and ALPAGU, which can also fly in the air in “flocks”

“Kamikaze KARGU body starts working, ALPAGU passed all tests”, is the title of a Turkish media article, the highlights of which are as follows:

“A new teammate is added to KARGU, which has been used for the first time against Haftar’s forces in Libya. The second member of the Kamikaze team, ALPAGU, has completed ammunition tests, will soon enter the inventory.

Turkey takes another critical step regarding the kamikaze UAV, which the world is watching closely.

It is expected that the TOGAN UAV will coordinate the KARGU and ALPAGU groups, which can also fly in the air in “flocks”.

TOGAN, which will control the herd with its artificial intelligence, in matters such as target identification, the situation of enemy elements and the mode of attack during the operation, is a very important level reached by the Turkish defense industry. ”

Turkish media about TOGAN reports the following:
KARGU

KARGU is a mobile, rotary attack drone designed to provide tactical ISR and precision strike capabilities for ground troops.

It is capable of fully autonomous navigation with STM’s unique flight control system. In addition, the platform is capable of precision strikes, beyond line of sight targets.

The precision strike mission is performed entirely by the operator, according to the Man-in-the-Loop principle.

The platform is capable of detecting and engaging static or moving targets with high accuracy during day and night.

The KARGU system consists of the Attack Drone platform and the mobile ground control station.

“TOGAN is a national autonomous multi-rotor reconnaissance UAS solution designed for general-purpose reconnaissance and surveillance missions with indigenous mission planning software, autonomous intelligence and operational capabilities. It can be autonomously or remotely controlled and deployed and operated from a single atom.

TOGAN can be effectively used in tactical reconnaissance and surveillance missions, with its capabilities to track fixed and moving targets and automatically switch missions supported by indigenous real-time image processing and deep learning algorithms.

The system consists of the “Micro UAV Platform” and “Ground Control Station”.

Swarm Intelligence UAV Project (BUMİN)

Swarm-intelligent UAVs are systems that can act autonomously, learn, decide and fulfill the mission given as a swarm in the context of asymmetric warfare or counter-terrorism. These systems have advanced features such as real-time object detection, recognition and tracking with computer vision techniques based on deep learning.

In the Swarm Intelligence UAV Project that we continue to develop, we conduct R&D and productivity activities such as autonomous systems, rotary and fixed platforms, swarm intelligence studies, testing and adapting existing products and technologies, and developing new algorithms.

Features | Responsibilities

Centralized/Distributed Communication Infrastructure, UAV to UAV communication, Formation capability, targeting and prioritization, target sharing, sense and avoid capability, rotation capability, Swarm Attack, guidance capability

Findings-Conclusions

From the above, it is clear that Turkey is feverishly preparing militarily, constantly adding kamikaze drones to its arsenal, something that will be beneficial for conducting regular military operations, and indeed a line, since their range and operating time point to this.

Most worryingly, according to the Turks, the TOGAN UAV will coordinate the groups of the other kamikaze UAVs, KARGU and ALPAGU, which can also fly in the air in flocks.

We remind you that in the past in our previous article, we referred to the threat posed to the Greek Armed Forces by Turkish drones and the S-400, while we also recommended the taking of specific measures immediately.

Also on the opposite side, we had referred extensively to the importance of the inclusion of kamikaze UAVs in the Aegean in the context of the ancient defense, from the Greek side, stating:

Greece, with the multitude of islands, intermediate islands, micro-islands and islets it has in the Aegean, needs to have in its arsenal a multitude of highly accurate and lethal weapon systems in order to face Turkish aggression.

Kamikaze UAVs, in addition to the above features, have as additional advantages the low cost of construction and the possibility to join the Pallaic defense as operators, fighters after a short training and our civilian population in the Aegean.

That is, UAV kamikaze will be able to handle after training the active army and TEA even male and female civilians.

Really, for example, in what other case would a man or woman of 65 or 15 years old living on one of our islands in the Aegean, except that of a kamikaze UAV operator, be able to kill or injure a group of elite Turkish marines or commandos, and even with a and only stroke?

It is also considered imperative that Greece include in its arsenal marine USVs.

Let’s visualize the image where UAVs and USVs are launched en masse against speedboats full of Turkish marines which will move towards the shores of one of our islands. The results will be devastating both in terms of casualties and the morale of the attacking Turks.

We should also realize that the above UAVs – USVs give us the ability to attack depending on their range, to attack military and non-military targets, both on the Asia Minor coast and inside Turkey.

We point out the necessity of immediate acquisition of UAVs, USV drones by our country, in order to close the dangerous “scissors” in relation to Turkey that exists in this sector, which has proven that it has the ability to determine the outcome of a military encounter in very much.

In closing, we mention that our country has moved to supply very advanced antidrone systems from a third country, which will put a barrier to Turkish drones, at a tactical and strategic level.
