Threats of doom! Putin to the former Soviet states: If you do what Ukraine does … you will be lucky

Putin is threatening to maintain control of Russia’s “southern courtyard.”

“Putin ‘threatens to act’ against former Soviet states if they defy Russia,” is the title of a respected media outlet whose main points are as follows:

“Vladimir Putin has issued a covert threat to the countries of the former Soviet Union, warning that they could face the same fate as Ukraine because they oppose Russia.

The Russian President made it clear that he would not hesitate to take the same measures against them if they turned against the Kremlin and would no longer be allies with his country.

Mr Putin’s comments followed those of the Kazakh president, who described the pro-Russian areas of Donetsk and Luhansk in Donbass as “quasi-state territories”.

As Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sat a few meters away from him at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, he claimed that Kazakhstan, which “left” the USSR in 1991, was part of “historic Russia.”

What is the Soviet Union? “This is historic Russia,” Putin said, before praising Kazakhstan as a brotherly nation.

“The same thing could have happened to Ukraine, for sure, but they would not be our allies.”

The words were interpreted as a “clear threat”, with a Kazakh-based expert claiming that the Russian president thus “made Mr Tokayev realize that Kazakhstan could be Russia’s next prey”, according to The Telegraph.

Another commented: “He says that if you are good neighbors, it does not matter. “But if you go out of line and go pro-west, we can conquer your land because it is ours.”

At the same conference in St. Petersburg, Putin said he expected Russia and Ukraine to restore relations after the completion of the “special military operation.”

“Sooner or later, the situation will return to normal,” he added

This is not the first time Kazakhstan has denied the independence of Donetsk and Luhansk, with Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tileuberdi doing so in March.

The Kremlin has accused Kazakhstan, along with Ukraine and Georgia, of hosting US biological laboratories.

The international community has long feared that Putin wants to regain control of former Soviet states, especially those that are not members of NATO, such as Moldova and Georgia.

In the midst of his war in Ukraine in April, a high-ranking Russian military official shared Putin’s plan to extend the occupation of the Donbas region in southern Ukraine to provide corridors to Moldova, specifically Transnistria, a region that claims ”

The baton was taken from Putin by the Vice President of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Medvedev, claiming in the Russian media that the EU will disappear before accepting Ukraine, saying:

“Ukraine’s accession to the European Union is really only possible in the middle of the century, and at the moment the connection itself may well disappear,” he told the Telegram.

In his opinion, the situation with Ukraine’s accession to the European Union is similar to the building of communism in the USSR

The date of implementation of these plans is not named, but many unverifiable abstract conditions are given. Their objective verification is impossible, Medvedev continued, it will be verified after decades, and new generations of EU leaders. Therefore, the politician said, “the real term is the middle of the century, not earlier”.

“What if (I hit wood) the EU will disappear by then? “Is it scary to think what a scandal it will be, why what sacrifices have been made on the altar of EU membership and what deception of the expectations of the unfortunate Ukrainians?” , he added.

Explaining the comparison with the USSR, the deputy head of the Security Council recalled that in the last version of the CPSU Program, approved in 1961, it was said: “The Party officially declares: the current generation of the Soviet people will live under communism! “The years have passed. We, students of the 1970s, all waited for the beginning of communism, but no, unfortunately, it did not happen. The Soviet Union collapsed, the KKSE was liquidated.”

Findings-Conclusions
Two main conclusions can be drawn from the above

The first is that Putin is trying to maintain control of Russia’s “southern court” by indirectly but clearly threatening the countries of the former Soviet Union that if they think of doing what Ukraine has tried, they will have their fate.

The second is that the Russian side is trying to devalue the EU accession process of Ukraine, saying that this will happen in the middle of the century, if and when the EU exists until then ….
