An incredible story of industrial espionage has been happening in the last few hours, with Europe’s largest rocket manufacturer as a victim.

This is MBDA which manufactures, among others, the Meteor missiles of the Greek Rafale as well as the Aster 30 of the new Greek frigates Belharra.

According to hacker group Adrastea, they broke into the database of Europe’s largest missile manufacturer and stole 60 GB of data.

According to the hackers, they have in their hands plans, videos, presentations and agreements for MBDA’s missile systems.

The hackers are demanding money to return the data, while MBDA denies that it has succumbed to blackmail.

MBDA denies that Adrastea hacked the company’s internal systems. However, the MBDA spokesperson told Cybernews that after the company refused to bow to this blackmail threat and pay a ransom, “the criminal group has spread information on the Internet, making it accessible for payment.”

The case is of particular interest, since Greece also buys from MBDA (as well as Israel).

The Turks had requested from MBDA some time ago the transfer of technology, which the Italians and the French did not accept.
