The Turks are out of control on the issue of territorial waters expansion!
Assessing this situation, which Turkey calls a “cause for war”, Ismail Hakki Pekin, former Chief of the Intelligence Department of the General Staff, said that if the Athens administration takes such a decision, Turkey will try diplomacy first and said : “If diplomacy does not work, then there will be conflict. However, Greece trusts its allies.”
Turkey, on the other hand, had declared years ago that such a move in the Aegean would be considered a cause of war. The former Chief of the Intelligence Department of the General Staff, İsmail Hakkı Pekin, assessed what could happen as a result of the increase of Greece’s territorial waters from 6 miles to 12 miles in the Aegean, especially in Crete.
Assessing what could happen if the Athens administration made such a move, Beijing said: “Turkey has previously said it would consider it a ’cause of war.’
Speaking about the US, Beijing said that “the US also has plans. They will intervene in the event of war between the two NATO countries.”
