The longer the war in Ukraine rages and Turkey “shakes” the worse for it

Ankara also exposed the Turkish Cypriots as it expelled a journalist from the pseudo-state

The war in Ukraine continues and with it Erdogan’s rhetorical frenzy.

These two factors have unimaginably strengthened the Greek positions as they act as tangible examples in the quiver of every Greek diplomat or representative of Athens abroad.

The most typical example is Dendia’s reference to Turkish aggression with references to the Russian invasion of Ukraine to draw parallels to the mood of his listeners: “We all know that Turkey is in an election period, but this cannot be an excuse for threats of to Greece. Of course we reject them, but they prove the correctness of the Greek position, but also that Ankara threatens a country with which it borders, and that in this way it ignores International Law and the Law of the Sea. A strong condemnation is needed. And I’m sorry that Turkey didn’t learn anything from what’s happening in Ukraine.”

Especially the Greek minister does not leave Turkey in the lurch as every aggressive phrase they utter against Greece, he takes it and internationalizes it.

He often densely reminds us of the illegality and ahistoricity of Turkish claims through parallels with the Russian invasion of Ukraine, making the task of the Turks even more difficult, especially in front of the eyes of the Americans who, however much they wanted to turn a blind eye, we are in a time when they cannot easily turn the other way and pretend that they do not see.

Meanwhile Turkey is really doing everything it can to make itself unpleasant even to its own people.

The case of what is broadcast by the Cyprus News Agency is typical, stating that the news that the Turkish Cypriot journalist Basaran Duzgyun was not accepted in Turkey was broadcast on Wednesday afternoon by the Turkish Cypriot media. According to “Havadis”, the general director of the newspaper, Basaran Duzgyun, was expelled from Turkey.

The Turkish Cypriot journalist traveled to Istanbul airport yesterday. The Turkish authorities invoked the “N82 code” and prevented the journalist from entering the country.

Mr. Duzgyun was waiting for a while at Sabiha Gökçen Airport in Istanbul and then returned to the occupied territories.

Previously, the former press coordinator under Mustafa Akinci, Ali Bizden, the researcher and doctor Ahmet Javid An, the former “MP” and doctor Okan Dagli, the president of the “Basın Sen” Turkish Journalists’ Guild, Ali Kismir, the former director of the illegal “Bayrak” and journalist Aisu Bastri Akter, the deputy general secretary of the Independence Road party, Munur Rahvancioglu, and the general secretary of the Left Movement, Abdullah Korkmazhan, had not received permission to enter Turkey.

The restriction code “N82” concerns foreigners whose entry into Turkey is subject to prior permission.
