The EU HYDEF joint European program to develop a hypersonic anti-missile system has been launched

As part of the implementation of the European Defense Fund project, it was announced that Germany and Spain started working on the EU HYDEF (European Hypersonic Defense Blocker) program, which concerns the development of a hypersonic anti-missile system.

The program involves the companies Diehl Defense from Germany (leads the program), SENER Aeroespacial, Navantia, Escribano Mechanical and Engineering, GMV Aerospace and Defense, Instalaza and the Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial Esteban Terradas from Spain, the companies Instytut Techniczny Wojsk Lotniczych and Warsaw Institute of Aviation from Poland, LK Engineering from the Czech Republic, Nammo from Norway, Ruag Space from Sweden and Sonaca Group from Belgium.

Last August, the EU approved €100 million in funding for the project, which is scheduled for completion in 2035.
