On Friday, October 27, 2023, the Deputy Minister of National Defense, Mr. Ioannis Kefalogiannis, as a representative of the Prime Minister, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and the Head of the General Directorate of Defense, General Konstantinos Floros, attended the swearing-in ceremony of the New Officers of the Military Corps Officers School (SSAS), which was honored by with the presence of S.A. President of the Hellenic Republic, Mrs. Katerina Sakellaropoulou, who handed over the swords to the sworn Second Lieutenants.
The ceremony, which took place at the premises of the School at the “CAPTAIN DOCTOR FOKA FOKA” Camp, presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Neapolis and Stavroupolis, Mr. Varnavas, as a representative of the Blessed Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Mr. Ieronymos, was also attended by:
● The Member of Parliament for Thessaloniki, Mr. Stavros Kalafatis, as a representative of the President of the Parliament of the Hellenes, Mr. Konstantinos Tassoulas.
● Member of Parliament A’ Thessaloniki Ms. Ourania Thraskia as representative of the Official Opposition and Member of Parliament A’ Thessaloniki Mr. Konstantinos Giulekas.
● The Deputy Mayor of Development of Municipal Communities and Citizen Service Centers, Mr. Charalambos Aidonopoulos, as a representative of the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Mr. Konstantinos Zervas.
● The Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Greece, Mr. Dragan Vukovic and the Honorary Consul of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Thessaloniki, Ms. Despina Manda.
● The Chief GEA Vice Admiral (I) Themistoklis Bourolias, the Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Angelos Houdeloudis and the Chief of General Staff Vice-Admiral Ioannis Drymousis PN, the Chief of the Coast Guard – Hellenic Coast Guard (L.S-EL.AKT.) Vice-Admiral L.S. Georgios Alexandrakis and the Fleet Commander Vice-Admiral Dimitrios – Eleftherios Kataras PN.
● The Rector of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Professor Dimitrios Kovaios.
● The 3rd SS/NRDC-GR Commander Lieutenant General Paris Kapravelos, the Inspector General of the Police of Northern Greece Lieutenant General Spyridon Sklavos, as a representative of the Chief of the Hellenic Police (HELP) Lieutenant General Lazaros Mavropoulos and the Coordinator of Operations for Central Macedonia – Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Major General PS Dimitrios Karasavvidis as a representative of the Chief of the Fire Brigade Lieutenant General Georgios Pournaras.
● Acting Commanders of the School, active and retired Officers, as well as the relatives of the new Officers.
A total of 69 Medical, Pharmaceutical, Psychological, Economic and Legal Officers graduated from the School, including 1 from Albania, 1 from Bosnia-Herzegovina and 7 from Jordan. New Officers are allocated to the Armed Forces as follows:
● 24 in the Army.
● 15 in the Air Force.
● 8 in the Navy.
● 13 in the Common Law Body.
