The Deputy Minister of National Defense, Mr. Nikolaos Hardalias and the CEO of the Operator of the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network K. Anastasios Manossigned today, Tuesday, May 31, 2022, a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of National Defense and the HEDNO Company, in a ceremony held at the “IOANNIS KAPODISTRIAS” hall, at the Ministry of National Defense.

Also present at the ceremony was the Chief of General Staff, General Constantine Floros, o Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Charalambos Lalousisthe Chief of General Staff Vice Admiral (I) Themistoklis Bourolias and Lieutenant General GEN George Kampourakis ΠΝ, while from the side of HEDNO, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Network, Mr. Iraklis Menegatosthe Director of the Office of Administration Mr. Hariklia Nakou and the Special Adviser Mr. Elias Padouvas.

With the signing of the Memorandum two parts I will mutually beneficial and mutually beneficial cooperation, in order to meet the need to electrify critical defense infrastructure in Greece and in particular to strengthen them in the border areas and remote islands, but also to deal with emergencies arising in the distribution network of the Country.

The aim of this national character of cooperation is to maintain, both the infrastructure of the Armed Forces and the infrastructure of HEDNO, at the maximum level of operation and performance, contributing to the increase of the level of national security. of the border areas and the remote islands of Greecebut also the standard of living of the citizens, through their uninterrupted electricity supply.

The Memorandum of Cooperation enters into force today, with the signature of the representatives of the two Parties.

The Deputy Minister of National Defense, Mr. Nikolaos Hardalias, after the signing of the Memorandum, stated:

«The signing of this Memorandum of Cooperation, between the Ministry of National Defense and the Administrator of the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network, confirms our common desire to proceed with a mutually beneficial and mutually beneficial cooperation, which aims on the one hand to provide emergency service areas or in remote islands and on the other hand in dealing with emergencies that arise in the Electricity Distribution Network of the country.

Our vision is the uninterrupted electrification and operational perfection of the operational infrastructure of both the Armed Forces and HEDNO, a fact that can make a decisive contribution to increasing the level of national security and living of Greek citizens.».

The CEO of HEDNO Mr. Anastasios Manos stated:

«The Memorandum of Cooperation that we signed today, seals an extremely important initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, sending at the same time a message of unity and determination to ensure our critical infrastructure in every corner of our country. I warmly thank the Deputy Minister Nikos Hardalias for this national cooperation that begins and which has as a fundamental pillar the further shielding and security of all border areas and remote islands of Greece, as well as the uninterrupted electrification of all citizens in emergency situations. “For our part, we are committed to supporting with all our might the difficult work of the Armed Forces and to contributing to the strategic protection of our critical infrastructure, in a period of multiple challenges, such as the one we are going through.”

O Chief of General Staff General Konstantinos Floros addressed a short greeting on behalf of the Armed Forces for the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation.
