Signal: Iran finalizes receipt of Sukhoi Su-35s from Russia

According to reports by the Tansim news agency, Iran’s Deputy Defense Minister Brigadier General Mahdi Farahi said that the agreement with Russia to supply Iran with Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jets, Mil Mi-28 and Yak-130 attack helicopters. The jet trainers have been finalized and the process is underway for the aircraft to be made available to the Iranian Armed Forces.

The delivery, which is widely seen as an advantage for the supply of Shahed-129 drones to Russia before and during a full-scale invasion of Ukrainethe transfer of Su-35 jets and Mi-28 attack helicopters is expected to add a significant capability to Iran’s currently outdated and aging fleet of US-made aircraft.

Air Force Technology reported the agreement with Russia for the supply of Su-35 fighter jetsalong with defense systems missiles and helicopters, in February 2023, with expected completion in March.
