On Thursday, November 16, 2023, at the 112th Fighter Wing (112PM), at the Elefsina Air Base, a welcome ceremony was held for the new Flight Inspection Aircraft (FIA), type Beechcraft King Air 360 (Beech B300 King Air 360 MSN FL-1315), with an Airborne Control System installed within it [Flight Inspection System (FIS)].
The new aircraft has joined the force of the 356th Airlift Squadron and its mission is to conduct Air Assault Missions (AAS) to certify aeronautical aids, arrival/approach/departure procedures, conventional and Performance Based Navigation, conventional runways and Area Navigation (RNAV), RNAV procedures, surveillance systems and applications, interference in the aeronautical frequency band, interference with aeronautical aids, visual aerodrome approach systems and aeronautical telecommunication systems.
The ceremony was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Air Support Command, Lieutenant General (MH) Konstantinos Kleniatis, the Commander of 112PM, Brigadier General (I) Vassilios Tosios, representatives of the company Aerodata AG, as well as flying and technical personnel of 112PM, who are trained in the type of aircraft.
