The Minister of National Defense Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulosaccompanied by the Chief GES Lieutenant General Charalambo Lalousi, represented the Government at the events to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the Liberation of Megisti Island, which was attended by the President of the Hellenic Republic, Ms. Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

After the Doxology held at the Holy Church of Saints Constantine & Helen, the President of the Republic followed by laying a wreath at the Memorial of the Fallen and a visit to the “LASKOS” TPC owned by Megisti. The Minister also visited the facilities of the Defense Command of the Island (DAN) of Megistis and spoke with the Personnel who serve there.
