Police operation in Aspropyrgos to prevent and fight crime – arrest of 3 people for electricity theft
In the context of the wider operational planning for the prevention and fight against crime, a special operational action was planned, organized and implemented in the morning hours today, Thursday 19 October 2023, in the wider area of Aspropyrgos.
Police forces of the West Attica Security Sub-Directorate, West Attica Police Directorate, Attica Security Directorate/Narcotics Prosecution Sub-Directorate, OPKE, Direct Action/DI.AS Directorate, Attica Police Operations Directorate, Attica Traffic Directorate participated in the police operation. , Service of Unmanned Aircraft (Drones), as well as services of DEDIE, the Municipality of Aspropyrgos and the presence of a public prosecutor.
As part of the operation, 4 searches were carried out in houses, -125- people (-105- nationals and -20- foreigners) and -60- vehicles were searched, while -3- people were brought in, -30- violations of the Code of Civil Procedure were confirmed . and a total of 400 meters of copper cables were confiscated.
Also, -3- people were arrested for electricity theft, while with the assistance of DEDIE employees, cables were removed from 38 houses which were illegally connected for the electricity supply.
The special operational actions of the Hellenic Police will continue in other areas where increased incidents of delinquency are observed with the aim of reinforcing a sense of security among the citizens.
