Plane crash next to the Athens-Lamia national highway – the pilot is dead

A single-engine plane crashed at a point near the 90th km of the Athens-Lamia national road.
An operation is currently underway to extricate the pilot and sole occupant.
According to information, the pilot who lost his life was 79 years old.
The single-engine plane, type Cessna, had taken off earlier from Thebes Aeroclub. The same information states that the single-engine plane crashed during the pilot’s attempt to land on the runway of the Thebes Aeroclub.
It crashed in fields, at a point near the National Road, 30 to 40 meters outside the air club fence.
