Panagiotopoulos: "Turkey is worried because Greece is getting stronger"

The Minister of National Defense, Nikos Panagiotopoulos, commented on Erdogan’s recent statements

“Turkey is mainly worried because Greece is getting stronger. And it is getting stronger because for a long time we have been implementing a reinforcement plan at all levels of all branches of the Armed Forces,” said the Minister of National Defense, Nikos Panagiotopoulos, commenting on Erdogan’s recent statements, during of his tour, head of government echelon, in P.E. Kastoria.

“In any case”, added Mr. Panagiotopoulos, “we prefer to respond with logic, not to raise our voices to an offensive level towards the other side and above all to respond with projects”.

Referring to requests for the allocation of old camp lands to the local government, he said that this is property that belongs to the share fund of the three arms of the Armed Forces and it will be necessary for those interested with studies to address the ministry on what they are thinking of doing with the specific lands .

For his part, the Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food Simos Kedikoglou referred to the difficulties faced by the primary sector with the huge increases throughout the chain of products for the cultivation of the land and emphasized that an effort is being made on the part of the ministry to find a solution to the issue of energy cost of the products that will be stored in the refrigerators to be sold in the winter in foreign markets. “We emphasize and support in every way the producers who are on the border of the country such as the farmers of Kastoria”, noted Mr. Kedikoglou.
