A gunman shot a driver in Kato Patisia after a minor accident, escaped and was killed by police fire in Agioi Anargyros – Two policemen injured – The man who was shot in Kato Patisia is in serious condition – Theodorikakos: “The policemen saved the citizens with self-sacrifice”
The police were called to handle two serious incidents on Saturday night in Athens. It all started from the thriller with the shootings in Kato Patisia, with the tragic altercation between two men starting from an insignificant occasion. The fight escalated, with a man getting out of his vehicle and shooting. A little later, the thriller culminated when the perpetrator of the armed attack stole a car and arrived at Agioi Anargyrou, where the police chase began, resulting in the gunman’s death.
The first incident unfolded on Kourtidou Street in Kato Patisia when a man got out of his car, shot and seriously injured another.
The altercation started because the cars of the people involved in the fight collided.
Later and amid the tense atmosphere that prevailed, the passenger – in a state of panic from the shots that hit the driver – went out onto the road, but was dragged away by a passing vehicle.
The two, driver and passenger, were taken to “Pammakaristos” hospital.
After the shooting, the assailant stole a Yaris brand vehicle and headed towards Agioi Anargyrou.
Afterwards, the Authorities were informed of two incidents and on Dimokratis Street, the police located the perpetrator and the pursuit began.
During the pursuit, there was an exchange of shots from which the attacker fell dead, while two policemen were wounded, one in the leg and the other in the chest.
The Minister of Citizen Protection, Takis Theodorikakos, and the police chief went to the 401 Military Hospital, where the two injured police officers were taken.
Two police officers confronted thugs in Patisia who exchanged shots, one of the thugs is dead. They self-sacrificingly saved the citizens, both were injured, fortunately only slightly. We are at 401 together with the Chief of ELAS and were informed by the doctors. Everything will be fine.

The Minister of Citizen Protection, who in his post after the end of the events congratulated the police officers for their self-sacrifice, as soon as he was informed of what had happened left the police station of Agios Panteleimonas, where he was visiting, and went to the hospital to see the injured policemen.
