New helicopters for the Armed Forces

Athens is looking for an immediate solution to deal with the chronic problems of support and availability for the helicopters of the Armed Forces, aiming at uniformity but also the possibility of undertaking multiple missions.

According to information, the Greek side intends to first replace the reliable but obsolete UH-1 Huey, of the Vietnam era, of the Army Air Force, while the same information indicates that the Super Pumas of the Air Force will follow.

There has been a flurry of activity lately with Lockheed Martin representatives visiting the Army General Staff and the Air Force Base to present their proposal for UH-60M helicopters, the newest version of the legendary Black Hawk.
