Mirage 2000-9: A step closer to the Air Force brings UAE fighters EastMedMonitor

The United Arab Emirates’ Mirage 2000-9 may be one step closer to the Hellenic Air Force.

As EastMedMonitor reports, the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his recent meeting with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, also discussed the possibility of selling the Mirage 2000-9 to Greece.

As the same site points out, the Mirage 2000-9 is considered the best version of the Mirage worldwide.

It is recalled that on May 25, in response to a relevant question in the Parliament, the Minister of Defense Nikos Panagiotopoulos stated that all possible options are being considered to find the most suitable solution, with the aim of further upgrading the operational capabilities of the Air Force.

“Finally, we know that more information on the matter cannot be released through the present process, as it falls under the category of “CONFIDENTIAL”, because it concerns the national defense planning and the Force Structure of the ED of the Country”, he said in his response to the possible procurement of Mirage 2000-9 from the United Arab Emirates by the Ministry of Defense.
