The Deputy Minister of National Defense Mr. Nikolaos Hardaliasas part of his official visit to Australia, met today, Thursday, October 27, 2022, with the Prime Minister of South Australia, Mr. Peter Malinauskasin the Office of the State Premier, Adelaide.
During the meeting, which took place in a particularly cordial atmosphere, Messrs. Hardalias and Malinauskas confirmed the close and strong friendly ties that connect the two countries, which are based on their common struggles and sacrifices for the values of Peace, Freedom and Democracy, as well as the dynamic presence of the numerous Greek Community.
Issues of mutual interest were discussed with a focus on the bilateral relations between Greece and Australia, perspectives and possibilities of further strengthening them in multiple fields, such as cooperation in the field of Defense and Defense Industry, health security, dealing with hybrid threats and emerging technologies.
Also, views were exchanged on issues of concern to the Greek Diaspora community, Turkish revisionism and the challenges facing Greece in the Aegean, the Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean, Greece’s responses through Diplomacy, bilateral and multilateral agreements and upgrading the capabilities of its Armed Forces, as well as the war in Ukraine and its consequences for global security, peace and stability.
Present were the Minister of Infrastructure & Transport and (Minister of) Energy & Mines Mr. Tom Koutsantonisthe Consul General of Greece in Adelaide Mr. George Psiachas and the Greek Adjutant Defense Colonel Ioannis Fasianos.
