MBDA presents the top JFS-M surface-to-surface missile with immediate Greek interest and prospects

The German MBDA in the context of the international exhibition of defense systems “ILA 2022” presents the top surface-to-surface missile JFS-M (Joint Fire Support Missile). This missile system is intended for both MARS II (German name for American MLRS) and other multiple artillery launchers.

It should be noted that the JFS-M has a philosophy of land stand off weapon without this negating the Greek interest, although the operational issue is the bombed missiles so that an entire area is hit and there are massive and not point losses.

In any case, the JFS-M would be an extremely valuable addition to hitting targets with great accuracy over long distances.

The JFS-M is a stand-off cruise missile philosophy weapon as mentioned above and has a maximum range of about 200 nautical miles (370 km) and the ability to navigate to a target of the same type with the French SCALP EG so that the missile is aimed using advanced technologies include area images and a missile sensor.

This practically allows the missile in a GPS denial environment to operate with precision and lethal efficiency. In addition, an indisputable advantage of the above missile is that it can attack moving targets by simultaneously updating the target data (course and speed) through a data link from another medium such as UAV or satellite.

In conclusion, we see that the European side has to demonstrate a wide range of new technologies including the new missile under development as well as the JFS-M precision ammunition.
