Joint training of the Armed Forces with the US Air Force.

On Thursday, November 02, 2023, and in the context of the overall planning of GEETHA regarding the actions of Military Cooperation between Greece and the USA, joint training took place between the Armed Forces and Bomber Aircraft (A/F) B-1B of the US European Command (USEUCOM) within the Athens FIR.

In the joint training, from the Greek side, 2 pairs of PA F-16 and F-4 fighter jets participated in escort and Close Air Support (CAS) missions, as well as 1 Joint Terminal Attack Controller team (JTAC) of the Special Warfare Command (DEP) of the GEETHA, while on the part of the U.S. B-1B Bombers and JTAC elements participated. During the course of the event, a virtual target attack was carried out by the JTAC teams at the GLAFYRON Firing Range.

This specific activity is a continuation of corresponding co-educational courses (click here, here and here), and contributed to increasing the level of operational readiness, combat capability and know-how exchange, as well as upgrading the multi-level military synergy of the Armed Forces of the two Countries.
