During the week of December 11 to 15, 2023, the Common Module on Space Applications for Security and Defense was held with great success, at the premises of the Icaron School, under the auspices of European Security and Defense College of the European Union (ESDC), within the framework of the International Air Force Semester.
The purpose of the module was to gain knowledge on the use of European Union Security and Defense Space Applications and to develop common understanding on these issues.
The speakers of the educational module came from SI, the National Kapodistrian University of Athens and from the main EU organizations for Space (EU External Action Service, EU Agency for the Space Programme, EU Satellite Center, European Union Agency for Cybersecurity) and European Space Agency, with excellent professional experience and excellent academic training.
The joint educational module was attended by Ikari, students of six (6) Military Training Institutions of the European Union (Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Poland, Romania), students of the Coast Guard School, the Greek Police Officer School, the Fire Service School, as well as and students of Greek universities (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, National Kapodistrian University of Athens, Institute of International Relations, University of Thessaly, University of Piraeus, University of Macedonia). The students of the Military Schools of the EU were hosted at the Icaron School and followed an additional afternoon program of cultural visits.
Upon the completion of the educational program, the Commander of the Ikaron School Vice-Captain (I) Konstantinos Karamesinis awarded relevant Diplomas to the participants.
