Japan is buying drones and roving munitions to protect its islands

Japan buys drones and roving munitions to protect its islands, after Ukraine’s war against Russia.

The Japanese are trying to learn “from the experience of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” writes The Eurasian Times.

Japan’s defense ministry is considering buying unmanned aerial vehicles that Ukraine has used on the battlefield.

These are the American Switchblade 300, while Tokyo is also considering the Israeli Harop drones of the IAI company that Azerbaijan uses against the Armenians.

Japan buys drones and roving munitions to protect its islands – Greece?

At the same time, it should be noted that according to the publication, Japan is also monitoring the Turkish Bayraktar TB2 drones (it is these Turkish drones that violate Greek airspace in the Aegean every day).

Tokyo plans to buy hundreds of combat drones in the next fiscal year that begins in Japan on April 1, 2023.

“By 2025, Tokyo wants to have several hundred foreign or home-made military drones. They will provide security for the Ryukyu Islands, which are close to China,” it said.

And here comes the question. Against the 200 Bayraktar that Turkey has, what does Greece have to line up?

The Azerbaijanis destroyed three S-300 systems (two in the city of Goris and one in the northeast of the city of Kapan) and one S-125 system (in the city of Vardeni).

In addition to the Bayraktar TB2, the Harop and Skystriker roaming munitions were also used in the operation.

The continuous violations of the Turkish Bayraktars in the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean cannot be excluded in the planning of the Turks to deal with the Greek S-300s located in Crete.
