Internationalist: The French side with Greece to stop Turkish aggression

The symbolism of the meeting of the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, with the French President, Emmanuel Macron, at a time when Turkey’s aggressive rhetoric is escalating at the expense of our country, was analyzed on ERT by Ioannis Papafloratos, international scholar and professor of Military Schools.

“It shows that the French are determined to side with Greece in order to stop Turkish aggression,” said the military analyst who characterized Turkey as a “country of turmoil” in “Syndeses”.

According to Mr. Papaflorato, Greece is ready for the worst scenario, but if a country like France comes, which has one of the strongest armies in the world, help is welcome.

“The irritation of the Turks is also very evident from today’s statements,” the military analyst pointed out on the occasion of yet another verbal crescendo of provocative statements by Turkish officials.

And he, like all the analysts, argued that the situation we are experiencing has a name and that it is a hybrid war, which we have already faced in 2020 in Evros.

“It is very likely that such a scenario will be repeated either in Evros or the islands or both.

“As successful as our response was in 2020, I hope it will be as successful now,” added Mr. Papafloratos.

Speaking to ERT journalist Stavroula Christofilea, she expressed the opinion that Turkey continues to exploit unhappy people and escalate its rhetoric to the maximum.

And as he pointed out “we are not alone, but in the case of a hot episode with Turkey we will be the first to be called to pull the chestnuts out of the fire”.
