Greek-Turkish: The Germans have a way to end Bayraktar in the Aegean

Greek-Turkish: The Germans have a way to end Bayraktar in the Aegean and Athens knows it, as long as they do what they did in Ukraine.

Germany to deliver IRIS-T air defense system to Ukraine

Will you tell us what this has to do with Greece and especially with the Turkish Bayraktar?

Let’s start things from the beginning.

Analena Berbock, head of the German Foreign Ministry, in an interview with Radio Liberty noted that the German IRIS-T air defense system will be ready by the end of summer and its delivery to Ukraine is expected in September or according to Christiana Hoffmann, Deputy representative of the German federal government until the end of 2022.

Remember that the German IRIS-T officially has a range of about 40 km and can destroy cruise missiles, rockets, aircraft, drones and helicopters at an altitude of up to 20 km.

That is, the IRIS-T shoots down the Turkish Bayraktar and Akinci (including the latter under conditions).

And Greece has an 8% participation in the construction of IRIS-T. Athens and Berlin could find a formula for the supply of IRIS-T to Greece.

Especially if the German 214 submarines are included in the equation, for which Greece is considering activating the purchase of additional units, in the form of 2+2.

It should be emphasized that IRIS-T can also be deployed on German submarines. The Germans are already testing it on the Type 209 and 212A against air threats, a process Israel has been developing since the 1970s.
