Greek-Turkish: No worries about upgrading Turkish Akinci – Here’s why

Greek-Turkish: The Turkish Akinci will carry SOM cruise missiles, while it is worth noting that on April 22, 2022, Turkey’s newest Turkish unmanned combat aircraft (UCAV), carried out its first live shot at a sea target.

Akinci’s missile was laser guided to a sea target.

In fact, Turkish publications in recent days talk about upgrading the capabilities of Turkish guided missiles, which can now reach 150 km in range.

The LGK-82 turns general-purpose bombs into smart munitions, capable of hitting targets from 150 km away thanks to laser marking.

The Turks believe that with this development they will make it difficult for Athens, since they will be able to become dangerous with the Akinci from far away.

Recently, another six Akinci became operational.

It is worth noting that this development is indeed important for the balance of power in the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean. But the Greek side knows very well that UAVs and drones need a specific factor to become dangerous.

In order for Turkey to strike with the Akinci or Bayraktar, it must have air superiority.

How will the Turks manage to take down the Turkish drones when they do not have air superiority?

Greek fighters will destroy every Turkish drone in the air or on the ground.

Another important detail is that the larger ones from Bayraktar Akinci need a regular airport to take off.

Thus, they cannot take off from small Turkish airports near the coast of Asia Minor, but from larger ones, which will certainly not… pass easily in the event of a Turkey-Greece conflict.
