STM, one of the leading companies in the Turkish defense industry, has successfully completed and delivered the KERKES project, which enables UAVs to operate in GPS-free areas.
“With this technology that only a few countries in the world are working on, our mini UAVs will perform their tasks without being affected by electronic warfare threats such as GPS obfuscation,” noted Turkish Defense Industry President Ismail Demir.
“In the absence of communication, the data and images received by the sensors will be processed and a location estimate can be made while targets determined by artificial intelligence can be hit,” said STM Director General Ozgur Gulerguz.
Greece is working with the Israelis to create an anti-drone shield on the Aegean islands and the Evros, with the Turks trying to find ways to bypass it.
Indeed, in the communication of the Turkish company, it is clearly seen that the technology also concerns the Turkish Bayraktar, which has drastically increased its violations of the Greek airspace in the Aegean.
