Deadly Combination for Greek Infantry: Lynx Kf-41 Armored Fighting Vehicle and Hero Ammunition

This is a prime and deadly combo for Motorized Infantry. The reason for the state-of-the-art Armored Combat Vehicle (AMV) Lynx Kf-41 of the German company Rheinmetall combined with an Israeli mobile ammunition launcher of the Hero family.

The Lynx Kf-41 has unique capabilities to combine lethal weapon systems to engage and neutralize tanks from long distances and with high precision. For this reason it makes it an ideal addition to the Hellenic Motorized Infantry in all phases of the fight: Defense, attack, collapse and advance.

Indicatively each Mechanized Platoon of a Mechanized Infantry Battalion of four (4) Lynx Kf-41 may consist of one (1) Lynx Kf-41 with Spike Launcher, one (1) with cruise munitions, one (1) with Reconnaissance UAV and one (1) with electronic warfare capabilities; Accordingly, there may be a different configuration at the Motor Company level.

In addition to the main gun and the coupled machine gun, the Lance 2.0 battle turret, incorporating the Lynx Kf-41, can be augmented with a dual Spike-LR2 anti-tank missile launcher, with a maximum range of 5.5 km, or a UAV launcher for surveillance and intelligence gathering . The Lance 2.0 can be enhanced with two (2) additional weapon systems (right and left of the turret), in addition to the main gun and the companion machine gun. The choice is between a dual Spike-LR2 launcher, a UAV launcher, a dual cruise missile launcher, or an electronic warfare collection.

We remind you that in the TOMA version the Kf-31 and Kf-41 incorporate the Lance turret (Kf-31), with the Mk.30-2/ABM (30 x 173 mm) or Wotan-30 (30 x 173 mm) or the Wotan-35 (35 x 228mm) or the Lance 2.0 (Kf-41), with the Wotan-35 (35 x 228mm) main gun, but can also accept a 30mm main gun.

The maximum rate of fire of the Wotan-35 is 200 rounds per minute, while the Wotan-35 achieves a greater effective range and penetration capacity, compared to the Wotan-30. Both (2) turrets incorporate a conjugate 7.62mm machine gun. The Wotan-30 uses FAPDS (Frangible Armor Piercing Discarding Sabot) ammunition, primarily against lightly armored targets. Upon striking the target the munition breaks up into many small pieces which travel at high speed deeper into the target. They also use PELE (Penetrator with Enhanced Lateral Effect) ammunition,
