Regarding the ongoing large-scale alien search and rescue operation in international waters in the maritime area of ​​47 nmi. south-west of Pylos, under the coordination of the Joint Search and Rescue Coordination Center LS-EL.AKT., it is known that so far one hundred (100) people have been rescued, who are being transported by boat to Kalamata, where their reception has been organized in collaboration with the General Secretariat of Civil Protection. In addition, four (04) people have been transported by a SUPER PUMA helicopter of the Air Force to Kalamata, where they were picked up by two EKAV ambulances and transferred to the General Hospital of Kalamata. It should be noted that when they were located, none of the rescued people had life-saving equipment (life jacket). So far from the extensive investigations, seventeen (17) bodies have been identified and collected.

Two (02) LS-EL.AKT. Patrol Vessels, one (01) LS-EL.AKT. Lifesaving Vessel, one (01) Navy Frigate and seven (07) sailing vessels are operating at the spot , as well as one (01) Navy helicopter and one Frontex Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV).
